If you’re looking to get into shape, cycling is a really fun way to do it! The best way to get fit on the bike is to alternate between pushing yourself hard, and going at a steady pace that keeps you in the fat-burning zone. We’d recommend choosing routes that are mostly flat with a couple of hills thrown in for good measure, and the kind of bike you’ll need will get you up those hills, will also letting you sprint out on the flat. You can choose between drop handlebars and flat ones, depending on how upright you’d like to be, and the frame materials also vary from aluminium to steel, and to carbon fibre. Spending more will either get you a lightweight carbon frame to help you get up the hills more quickly, or superior gearing, to prolong the life of your bike (and your fitness regime!).
